Feeding families in need in Central Minnesota is the mission of The Outreach Program located n Nisswa. They provide 10 different nutrient dense meals for only $.35 each and with our ENF Grant of $2000 we packed over 4000 meals on Saturday March 31st. More than 20 Elks and family volunteers came together to package meals.

All around us we see that food insecurity can affect people from all walks of life. Many households are just one job loss, missed paycheck, or medical emergency away from hunger. Definition of food insecurity: The lack of access to enough safe and nutritious food for normal growth, development, and the ability to lead a healthy life.

We have used an ENF Grant to contribute to The Outreach Program since 2020 and this year we maximized our efforts by sending out a large volunteer group to package our donation.

According to the Outreach website; “Our vision is that 80-90% of the meals we package will be distributed within a 60-80 mile radius of Nisswa, MN. The remaining 10-20% can be distributed in greater Minnesota, used for disaster relief.“
