"What Does Patriotism Mean To Me"

I am pleased to announce that the Grand Lodge Fraternal Committee has selected the theme, “What Does Patriotism Mean To Me?” for the 2024-2025 Grand Lodge Americanism Essay Contest. The contest starts with the Local Lodges, progresses through District and State levels, and ends with the naming of our National Winners at the Grand Lodge Session in Kansas City, Missouri in July 2025.

Batters Up! is a FREE hitting competition in which kids compete against other kids their age to see who is crowned champion! The event is hosted by several Elks Lodges across the state as a family friendly activity for the local community. The Brainerd Elks Batters Up Challenge is going to take place Sunday, July 21st, 2024, at Oscar Kristofferson Park in Baxter. The Elks "Batters Up" is a Free event for kids ages 5 to 15. Up" highlights the Elks commitment to America's youth.

Brainerd Lakes Area students receive award and prize money for their Elks Essay contest submissions.

Look who won in the annual Elks Americanism Essay contest. Once again we have local, district and Minnesota State winners. Bill Satre (#615 Secretary-PER) and Herman Wisneski (#615 Treasure-PER/PSP) wer in the class room to make the presentation.

9 year old Darci Martini took 1st Place at the Regional Elks Hoop Shoot in Iowa! It's now on to the Nationals April 18-21 in Chicago.

The Community Thanksgiving Will Be November 23rd

The 16th Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner is underway. Four local organizations have come together to prepare a Thanksgiving meal for you. All orders must be completed by Monday, November 20th. There is no charge for the meal, however a free-will offering is gratefully accepted.

The Fishing Fling is Back at the Amory!

The Brainerd Elks Fishing Fling is returning to the Brainerd National Guard Armory on Wednesday, May 10th. The Fishing Fling event is an annual fund raiser to provide area high school students with thousands of dollars in scholarships. For $75 enjoy prizes and featured guest speaker is Dick Jonckowski.

The Brainerd Elks recently donated $2000 to Imagination Library, funding over 950 books. Several Elks also volunteered at Llama Llama Read-o-Rama, directing traffic and celebrating reading with over 180 children.
